Motive is the deity Hotei releasing a dragon.

The artist demonstrated skill in utilizing various techniques, including Katakiribori, Zogan inlay, and the incorporation of metals such as gold and shakudo.

This was not a commoner's Tsuba - it was dedicated to high-ranking samurai.
