Tsuba - OWARI Sadahiro (貞広) - NTHK Hozon

A Owari iron sukashi tsuba attributed to Sadahiro (貞広) and accompanied by NTHK Hozon certification. Executed in maru-gata, the design is exceptionally restrained, consisting of a broad outer rim, two large symmetrical open spaces and a strong central seppa-dai enclosing the nakago-ana. The simple composition places particular emphasis on the quality of the iron, the proportions and the carefully controlled negative space.

The tsuba displays the characteristic austere and functional elegance of the Owari school. Its dark brown-black patina and visibly forged surface retain a natural, aged appearance, while the subtly irregular contours of the openwork give the piece considerable individuality. The comparatively thin construction, combined with the elongated central seppa-dai, produces a balanced and understated silhouette typical of refined Owari iron work.
