- Tsuba - Nishigaki Shiguretei — NTHK + Box+ cushion

A fine mumei iron tsuba attributed to the later generation of the Nishigaki school, with NTHK certification. The tsuba features a carefully worked sukashi design depicting the Shiguretei motif, with architectural and natural elements arranged within a balanced openwork composition. Fine kebori details complement the pierced iron ground, which has developed a dark, characterful patina.

The NTHK certificate identifies the work as Higo Nishigaki Kōdai, dates it to the late Edo period, and describes the workmanship as tetsu migakiji, sukashi and kebori. The restrained openwork and naturalistic composition reflect the refined aesthetic associated with Higo sword fittings, which were particularly appreciated within the samurai tradition for their sophisticated treatment of iron.
