Tsuba - Kacchushi - Armorer made - Amida Buddah - Muromachi

This early armorer-made tsuba features a thin plate with simple, vertical and angular sukashi elements. The forging is slightly irregular, with a natural patina and a utilitarian finish typical of battlefield-oriented Muromachi-period work.

The vertical openings may represent arrow shafts or defensive posts, symbolizing steadfastness, martial readiness, and foundational strength.

A samurai of the era would have selected such a tsuba for its simplicity, durability, and clarity of purpose—qualities suited to active combat and the austere warrior spirit of the period.
