A finely worked Ko-Kinko tsuba in sentoku, decorated on both sides with a continuous composition of stylized nami (waves). The waves are rendered in closely spaced engraved lines, creating a lively sense of movement across the warm golden-brown surface. Traces of gold remain visible, particularly around the central area, adding further contrast to the decoration.
The restrained naturalistic subject and refined engraving are characteristic of early kinko sword fittings. Waves were an established motif in samurai culture, symbolizing strength, movement and the changing forces of nature. No specific maker or regional attribution is documented here, so the tsuba is conservatively described as Ko-Kinko.
