Menuki - Kyo-Kinko NBTHK Hozon

A fine mumei Kinko menuki pair, with NBTHK Hozon certification, depicting tsukushi (土筆, horsetail shoots). Executed in dark shakudō with finely sculpted takabori relief, the elongated forms are articulated with overlapping scale-like sheaths and finely carved foliage. Small accents of gold iroe provide subtle highlights against the dark ground.

The certificate identifies the subject as 土筆図目貫 (Tsukushi-zu menuki) and describes the work as mumei, Kyō Kinkō, shakudō ground, takabori and gold iroe.
